Mass dimension one fields with Wigner degeneracy: A theory of dark matter

چکیده
Whatever dark matter is, it must be one irreducible unitary representation of the extended Lorentz group or another. We here develop a formalism mass dimension fermions and bosons spin half, show that they provide natural candidates. By construction, are covariant under space-time translations boosts. However, incorporating rotational symmetry is non-trivial requires introducing two-fold Wigner degeneracy thus doubling degrees freedom for particles anti from two to four. With degeneracy, we have well-defined theory fields half physically distinct Dirac field. They local, positive definite free Hamiltonians. The developed framework also has potential resolve cosmological constant problem, supply energy.

Local fermionic dark matter with mass dimension one
We present two new local quantum fields of mass dimension one. The fields satisfy fermionic statistics and are endowed with spin one half. These are based upon the dual helicity eigenspinors of the relevant charge conjugation operator. The mismatch of mass dimensionalities between the standard model fermions and the new fermions severely restricts the interactions between the new fields and the...

The Elko field of Ahluwalia and Grumiller is a quantum field for massive spin1/2 particles. It has been suggested as a candidate for dark matter. We discuss our attempts to interpret the Elko field as a quantum field in the sense of Weinberg. Our work suggests that one should investigate quantum fields based on representations of the full Poincaré group which belong to one of the nonstandard Wi...
متن کاملConstraints on mass dimension one fermionic dark matter from the Yukawa interaction
We study the loop corrections to the scalar propagator and the fermionic self-energy for the mass dimension one fermionic dark matter with the Yukawa interaction. We find, in the former case, there is a non-vanishing Lorentz-violating term while the later is Lorentz-invariant. Our study of the fermionic loop correction shows that unitarity demands the fermionic mass must be at least half of the...

متن کاملDark Matter and Dark Gauge Fields
Following the unexpected theoretical discovery of a mass dimension one fermionic quantum field of spin one half, we now present first results on two local versions. The Dirac and Majorana fields of the standard model of particle physics are supplemented by their natural counterparts in the dark matter sector. The possibility that a mass dimension transmuting symmetry may underlie a new standard...
